An In-Depth Look at Our Dental Technologies

Digital x-rays are just one more advantage you will have at your disposal when you visit our office. Instead of using a conventional film, we use a special computer sensor which puts the x-ray picture directly into the computer and which allows us to reduce the amount of harmful radiation by nearly 90%. Since the pictures are in the computer, we can enhance the images to better diagnose conditions–often before they become problems. This proves to be much more convenient for you because the x-rays can then be displayed on the computer right in front of you!

An intraoral camera allows us to view clear, precise images of your teeth and gums with a camera that’s roughly the size of a pen. The camera transmits the images to a computer screen or television monitor and you’ll be able to see right away a fractured tooth, abscess, or cavity. In the case of the intraoral camera, a picture may be worth more than a thousand words!

The diode laser is a modern, advanced dental technology that is typically used during cosmetic, soft tissue management, decay removal, or surgical procedures. Cosmetically it can be used to effectively reshape the gum line and lengthen the appearance of the teeth. It can also be used to manage dental hygiene by killing the bacteria in the periodontal pockets and to remove decay on the teeth. The diode is also used during surgeries to make accurate and minimally invasive incisions. The laser’s ability to eliminate bleeding ensures less post-operative swelling and discomfort for the patient.
